Last week I posted about pole green beans. As you can see from my garden that my pole green beans are growing. I can not wait to see them start to grow up the panel.
When growing potatoes the soil is a important part of the success of their growing. Last year my soil was not very good so my potatoes were small and misshaped.
As you potatoes are growing you will want to feed them a liquid fertilizer every two weeks, sparingly during the vegetative stage, up to blooming time. Once the blooms are out, STOP fertilizing. You would be wise to mark each hill as you plant, because as the flowers droop, the foliage on the plant will begin to waste away, because all the good is now going to the potatoes developing spuds!
This is my first year on growing carrots. It has been fun to watch them come up and I am excited to see how them come out.
